A year ago, we wanted to see what some good ‘ol dinosaurs had to say about freelancing. Unfortunately, since then, the dinosaurs have met a dark and dastardly fate. We decided to check back in to see how our freelancer was making out after the asteroid…

Everyone’s got their own ideas about what the workplace of the future will be like. We decided to join in and come up with our own predictions.
This comic was created by Elizabeth Pich, half of the talent behind .
Some workplace trends are better than others. Take for example the open office: originally praised by designers and architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright, the open office plan was meant to remove mental barriers placed on workers through physical separation.
These open office plans have endured since their inception in the 90s and even grown in popularity, partially due to their cost-effective use of space. Despite employer fervor, there is a growing scholarship pointing out the design’s flaws: , and , to name a few.
Despite their flaws, workplace trends will endure. Some might even No matter what you may think of workplace trends, I think we can all agree – dog yoga is a great idea.
I’m over workplace trends. What about more comics?
In addition to putting out a new comic every Thursday, we’ve got some great comics in the catalog:

If you read tech news, you may be convinced the robots are coming for us. Our AI robot overlords may one day take over and make us pay retribution for all the, but we’re not totally convinced they’re quite there yet…
This comic was created by Elizabeth Pich, half of the talent behind for the Toggl Team –
Tracking your time may not make you quite as productive as a robot, but it can give a good idea of how well you’re actually working. After all, time tracking isn’t about making sure you’re working long hours,
Keeping track of your time , so why not !
Robots are fine but what about more comics?
Any chance you have a job where you work with a lot of clients? Well, this one we did about Also, it has pirates!
We’ve also used dinosaurs to explain .
Perhaps, you’d enjoy this comic which covers the
We also love animals too, . Time management is a serious thing, but maybe Johnnie the Sloth isn’t the best mammal to look up to when it comes to organizing your life (but boy, would you get some naps if you took his advice!).
We will also keep doing these comics, so keep an eye on our or if you want to catch them early. We’re on too, if you need a break from all of those fitness coaches and their routines.
You might feel silly comparing a startup to a zoo. We get it. Zoos are well-organized businesses that have to make money to survive. They’re nothing like startups.
But we wondered, what it might look like if a startup were a zoo…
This is yet another infographic by the Toggl team – the people behind
We do these comics to give you a mental break from your epic daily adventures – like creating an amazing product or trying to find yourself a good gorilla. Just be careful, it’s a jungle (or zoo) out there.
Well if you work for a startup, there’s a good chance we’ve
If you’re a developer, boy do we have some great comics for you. We did this awesome comic about using different programming languages to as well as this comic that theorized what might happen if (spoiler alert: it’s not great).
You might also enjoy – a highly realistic, deeply immoral game about life in the gritty startup scene of Silicon Valley. We built the entire game during a weeklong team retreat in the Scottish lowlands (highlands were not good, terrible wifi).
Also, since a lot of our users work in development, we also have this handy guide
Probably. Being a time tracking app, we’re pretty passionate about the industry and the challenges of working in that field.

When thinking about tech careers of the future, AI and machine learning may come to mind. Sure, those might be the tech careers of the near future, but what about the far future? We’ve got a theory…
This comic was created by Extra Fabulous Comics for the Toggl Team –
Do you think this is really the future of tech?
Maybe! If Back To the Future taught us anything, it’s that if you make enough predictions about what could happen in the future at least some of them will probably come true. It’s all about quantity.
We do, however, have some better guesses about what the future of work could be.
Being an entirely remote company, we’re pretty passionate about cutting the cord and letting people figure out where, when and how they work best! If that sounds appealing to you,
We promise we won’t sacrifice you to appease the darkness if things take a turn for the worst.
What about more comics?

If there’s one thing creative workers know, it’s the frustration of feeling blocked. There’s an idea lingering somewhere in the back of your mind but nothing you do is able to knock it out.
Tired of modern transportation? Have a ton of hay laying around? It sounds like you might very well be in the market for a horse.
But maybe not one built with a programming language. Why not? You’ll see…
Running an agency is hard. Just ask the folks at Smiles Inc. Like most agencies, they face a few, small, issues. But I’m sure it’s nothing a little efficiency consulting and some good marketing can’t fix.
This comic was created by Elizabeth Pich, half of the talent behind . Stay tuned for more angst from Smiles Inc!
And if you’re wondering if that’s how marketing actually works, the answer is: of course it is! How do you think we made this comic?
If you want to improve your efficiency and avoid the wrath of a consultant, you first need to know how much time you really spend working and how much time is just playing with yarn and knocking things off of tables. After all, .
to test just that.
After all, we could all use just a little more time in our days, and while trying to slow the suns rotation down through science or magic may sound appealing, improving your efficiency might be just a little more feasible.
If you work for an agency, you may also get paid for your time and work. So it’s probably good to know how long that ‘one small change’ is actually taking you. We also happen to have made a !
What a totally, random coincidence.
