Women of Tech
From the early days of tech to the present, women have contributed to scientific and technical breakthroughs. Although their work has changed the ways we live today and laid the foundations for further technological exploration and innovation, many haven’t received widespread recognition.
We wanted to highlight all the wonderful work done by women in science and tech fields. Whether it’s changing the world through their inventions or getting people interested in technology, the contributions they’ve made and continue to make are deserving of appreciation.
When it comes to sci-fi, it feels like we humans suffer from an inferiority complex. Aliens are always the ones with superior brains, histories that would make the ancient Greeks blush, and the coolest tech on this side of the Milky Way.
But what if it was the other way around? What if their shiniest marvel of technology was – the fax machine?
Anxiety, on some level, is a feeling we all deal with. There are even positives to this stress – consider how you start working on a project when that deadline starts to sneak forward.

Some workplace trends are better than others. Take for example the open office: originally praised by designers and architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright, the open office plan was meant to remove mental barriers placed on workers through physical separation.
These open office plans have endured since their inception in the 90s and even grown in popularity, partially due to their cost-effective use of space. Despite employer fervor, there is a growing scholarship pointing out the design’s flaws: , and , to name a few.
